Description
Antique Georgian 18ct gold almandine garnet & seed pearl locket back mourning ring, c1825. A central cushion cut almandine garnet, two heart shaped almandine garnets & six seed pearls set in 18ct gold. The shoulders being decorative openwork. Good wide shank. At the center back of the gallery is a locket area with a bezel set rock crystal window, where the plaited hair of a loved one can be seen. Not marked, but tests as 18ct gold. Condition.
Some chips to one of the heart shaped almandine & a tiny piece of gold decorative balls missing to the outer of the ring as can be seen in the photographs, but this does not detract from the ring's overall appearance. Good condition for it's age.
