Description
Antique Georgian 18ct gold green garnet & diamond closed back ring, c1800. A central oval cut green garnet surrounded by tiny old cut diamonds, claw set in silver. The diamonds & garnet are closed back. The gallery & shank is 18ct gold. The stones being set in silver was believed to enhance their colour. The outer edge of the gallery face has swag decoration & the shoulders being split with scroll detail leading to a reeded shank. The hallmark is rubbed & parts just visible but tested as 18ct gold.
