Description
Antique Georgian 18ct gold pink sapphire & half pearl mourning ring, c1800. A central table cut pink sapphire, surrounded by a halo of half pearls crimped collette set, set in 18ct gold. The shoulders being slightly open with fine hand chased decoration leading to a reeded shank. At the centre back of the gallery is a locket area where the plaited hair of a loved one would have been, sadly the glass (rock crystal) & hair are missing, as is so often the case with a ring of this age. Not marked, but tested as 18ct gold.
