Description
Antique Georgian 18ct gold seed pearl & enamel mourning ring, 1820. A border of seed pearls surround a glazed panel( probably rock crystal) where the plaited hair of a loved one can be seen. The shoulders being split with fine hand chased foliate decoration & black enamel. The ring having a reeded shank. To verso of the gallery an inscription reads "Mrs Emelia Penlington ob 24 Feb 1820 at 60". A fantastic example from the late Georgian era.
