A fine quality antique Hanau Germany solid sterling silver snuff box. Heart shaped box with repousse foliate decoration around the sides & a flat base. Slightly domed hinged lid on the top with a repousse scene on the top depicting two young children & gilded inside. Fully hallmarked on the underside with the German Hanau silver marks & the English import hallmarks. Lovely collectors item.

Condition.
Excellent condition with light surface marks that are consistent with genuine age, use & polishing. There is no damage or dings or dents. The detailed scene on the lid is not as crisp as it would have been when new due to polishing over the years but there are no holes.
