Description
Antique Victorian 9ct gold large carved black basalt lava cameo ring, (c1880). Hand carved black basalt of the Roman Goddess Flora, bezel set in 9ct gold. The mount having split sides. Stamped 9ct to the inside of the shank. The Goddess Flora was the Goddess of flowers. The flower often associated with Flora was the rose which symbolized love & beauty, hence all the roses in her hair. A fantastic example. With a gift box. Condition.
Crack to the outer edge of the gold mount which can be seen in the photographs, but this does not detract from this rings overall appearance. Other than that, this ring is in excellent condition.
